According to the Registrierkassensicherheitsverordnung (RKSV) regulations, in Austria you are required to sign all receipts.

This application ensures that receipts are signed via Fiskaltrust. The signature is shown as a QR code on the receipts.

Through this QR code, the Austrian financial police can see whether the issued receipts are genuine.

This works by means of a chain:

• Receipt 1 is signed;
• Receipt 2 is signed with the signature of receipt 1;
• Receipt 3 is signed with the signature of receipt 2.

From receipt 3, the financial police can look back to receipt 1 to determine whether a receipt is falsified.
